Test Prep

One-on-one test prep coaching for students looking to make gains on the SAT, ACT, PSAT, and SSAT.

  • Expert engaging one-on-one instruction

  • Tried and true ACT and SAT strategies

  • Active learning, engagement, and participation

  • REAL practice tests from the ACT and SAT

  • Tailored sessions, exercises, and instruction based only on student strengths and weaknesses.

  • Expected commitments:

    • at least 24 hours total of one-on-one test prep*

      • 12 hours of verbal, 12 hours of math

      • 8 weeks, twice per week

      • 90-minute sessions

    • Student will complete daily homework and practice between sessions

    • Student will sign up for 3 official sittings of the exam

Average gain after 8 weeks (12 hours) of tutoring:

  • + 5 points on the ACT English and Reading sections

  • +100 points on the SAT/PSAT (+50 for verbal or math only)

*students with learning differences who receive accommodations (extended time) in school and on standardized tests often find they similarly need more instruction than this recommendation. Every year, approximately 40-50% of my students have some kind of learning difference (i.e. dyslexia, processing speed differences, ADD, ADHD, dysgraphia)
