College Consulting & Guidance

I help students build a balanced college list, understand the admissions landscape, and craft authentic applications that showcase their strengths and passions. My guidance covers:

  • Developing a balanced college list based on fit, not just name recognition

  • Planning the college prep timeline at any stage (freshman–senior year)

  • Organization, time management, and deadline tracking

  • Guidance on course selection to strengthen college candidacy

  • Crafting compelling essays and application materials

  • Basic support with financial aid forms and scholarship searches

Goal: Ensure each student feels informed, confident, and empowered throughout the college search and application process.

Test Prep

For students who want to improve their standardized test scores, I offer focused one-on-one coaching for the SAT, ACT, PSAT, and SSAT. My approach emphasizes active learning and builds on each student’s strengths.

What’s included:

  • Expert instruction with proven SAT/ACT strategies

  • REAL practice tests from the official ACT and SAT

  • Tailored exercises and lessons based on individual strengths and weaknesses

  • Active engagement and participation in every session

Expected Commitment:

  • Minimum of 24 hours of one-on-one instruction (12 hours verbal, 12 hours math)

  • 8-week program, twice per week, 90-minute sessions

  • Daily practice and homework between sessions

  • Enrollment in three official exam sittings

Average Gains After 8 Weeks:

  • +5 points on ACT English/Reading

  • +120 points on SAT/PSAT (or +60 for verbal or math only)

Note: Students with learning differences who receive accommodations (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD, dysgraphia) often benefit from additional instruction. About 40–50% of my students fall into this category each year.
